BioLink Studio rebuilt as a real editor

In the first half of June we rebuilt BioLink Studio, our link-in-bio editor, so every tab reads and writes real data. This is a look back at what got built.

This is a written-up look back at 7-20 June 2026. I am writing it in October, from the git history of our two code repositories, so everything below is something that exists as code on our staging branch. It is not a launch announcement. PersonaCart is still pre-launch.

Period covered: 7-20 June 2026.

In short

  • The main job of these two weeks was BioLink Studio, the editor for your link-in-bio page. It now loads and saves your real page instead of sample data.
  • Studio gained an Audience tab (leads and campaigns), a Payments tab, and an Analytics tab wired to real numbers.
  • Custom domains can now point at a BioLink page as well as at a store, and Pie, our assistant, got a search-visibility inbox.

What we tried to build

We wanted the BioLink editor to feel like one tool, not a set of mock screens. A creator should open Studio, change a theme or a link, and see the same change on the public page. Before this period, parts of Studio ran on placeholder data. The goal for these two weeks was to replace every placeholder with the real thing, or remove it.

You can see the shape of the product on the BioLink page.

What we built

  • A full rebuild of the Studio interface. The screens were rebuilt on shared design tokens, so spacing, colour and type stay consistent as the product grows.
  • Studio talks to the real backend. The editor loads and saves through the creator's actual BioLink API. We also removed the dummy starter data, and a new empty page is seeded with starter blocks that come from the backend, not from front-end code.
  • More than one BioLink page per account. The one-page limit was lifted, and Studio edits whichever profile you select, with its own theme and links.
  • A primary page ready at sign-up. The first bio page is created when the account is created, so there is something to edit straight away.
  • New blocks. Image, Carousel and Shop blocks joined the block catalogue. A link block can fetch a thumbnail and platform mark from the URL you paste, and a link carousel can show as a two-column grid.
  • Preview that matches the public page. The Desktop preview in Studio now renders the real two-column public layout. Social icons wrap into balanced rows so you never get one lonely icon, and you can reorder them by drag.
  • A currency setting for the whole page. One picker in Settings sets the currency every price on the page uses.
  • Audience tab. Leads are captured with consent recorded at the moment of capture. You can export them to CSV, and write a campaign (a segment, a subject, a body, send now or schedule) to the people who agreed to hear from you.
  • Payments tab. It shows the Stripe connection state in three clear stages.
  • Real analytics. The Analytics tab reads the real roll-up numbers instead of zeros.
  • Faster publishing. Editing, publishing or renaming a page now clears the public cache, so changes show up on the live page straight away.
  • Domains for bio pages. A custom domain can now be attached to a store or to a bio page from one place, with a Domains row in the BioLink sidebar. A bio page can be served on its own domain, and deleting a page is blocked while a domain is still bound to it.
  • Search basics for bio pages. There is an Auto-SEO switch with a plain "what we do for you" panel, search engines are notified when a page changes, and each page has a machine-readable record at its own address so AI tools can read it.

Smaller items: scroll-reveal for blocks, a clearer not-found page, and a single Upload control that opens our media library.

Pie and search visibility

Pie got its first set of search tools this fortnight. It suggests keywords, drafts blog and backlink ideas, and can optimise all pages at once. Suggestions go into an inbox where you apply or ignore each one, so Pie proposes and you decide. Stores also serve a plain-text, AI-readable file per page.

What it means for a coach or academy

If you run classes or coaching, your first public page is often a link in your Instagram bio. A page that saves what you see, keeps a list of people who said yes to hearing from you, and can sit on your own domain is a usable base. The Audience tab matters most here. It is a consent-first list you can write to, not a list you borrowed.

I should be plain about what is not here. A few screens in this period were interface-only mock-ups (upgrade and payment-region screens). We did not count them as built, and I am not claiming them.

What is next

The following two weeks moved to Pie itself: a live workspace for Pie, approvals by email, and a cleaner domains screen. That is the next post.

Frequently asked questions

Can a BioLink page use my own domain?

The code to attach a custom domain to a bio page was built in this period, and the same screen manages store domains. Deleting a page is blocked while a domain is still attached, so a live link cannot be orphaned by accident.

Does BioLink collect my followers' emails?

Studio has an Audience tab that stores leads and records consent when each lead signs up. You can export the list and send a campaign to the people who agreed. It only mails people who consented.

Is BioLink Studio launched?

No. It is built and sits on our staging branch. PersonaCart is pre-launch, and my own accounts are the main users right now.
