A Link for Every Product Variant | PersonaCart Journey

In the week of 14-20 September we built links for single product variants and bookable trainers. This is a written-up look back from our commit history.

This is a written-up look back at 14 to 20 September 2026. It is not a live diary; I am writing it on 12 October from our commit history. Period covered: 14-20 September 2026.

In short

  • Each product variant can now have its own link, so you can send a buyer straight to one option of a product.
  • Bookable trainers arrived: you can add trainers to a service and let buyers book a time with a specific one.
  • The page editor got a round of small controls that creators had been asking for, mostly around text and spacing.

The main thing: a link for every variant

A product often has options. A course in two lengths. A class pass in three sizes. A jersey in four colours. Until now a buyer landed on the product page and had to pick the option themselves. If you wanted to share "the longer course" in a post, you shared the product and hoped.

This week we built the pieces to fix that. In the app on our staging branch, each variant now has a link path. You set it once on the variant, and the product page opens with that option already chosen. The products table has a new "Link path" column so you can see and copy them. The page builder has a new "variant link" element that shows a share and copy button for a variant, so you can put it on your own page.

We also built a page layout that switches its content when the buyer picks a variant. Think of a product page with tabs: choose the option and the panel below changes. Panels load as they are needed, so a long page does not make every visitor wait for content they did not pick. A helper in the editor can turn an existing set of blocks into "one panel per option" or into tabs.

One more piece sits underneath: if a buyer arrives through a variant link and then buys, the order remembers which link brought them (the last link they clicked). That tells you which of your shared links does the work.

Smaller variant changes shipped alongside: a variant can have its own display name, and the variant picker can show a photo card for each option instead of a plain text pill.

Bookable trainers

For anyone who sells sessions, we added "resources". A resource is a trainer, and a service can now have trainers attached to it. The booking engine can pick a time based on which trainer is free. You can create a trainer from inside the service editor, so you are not sent away to another screen first. Returning buyers can default to the trainer they used before.

This is the base for what comes later. It is built, and we are still testing it on our own accounts.

Other things built this week

  • Billing: a real card manager on the creator billing page: add a card, see your cards, set a default, remove one. Invoice history now pages through and shows the renewal amount.
  • Checkout: a per-creator switch for Stripe Link, so buyers who use it can pay faster. You decide if it shows.
  • BioLink: a BioLink can use one custom domain, and the old bio.personacart.com address redirects to it. The Sales table can be downloaded as a CSV.
  • Security: the owner of a store gets a notice whenever a team member signs in.
  • Editor: italic, underline, strikethrough and highlight now live in the text popover, with the usual keyboard shortcuts. Size limits grew for avatars, icons, embedded video and spacing. Buttons got their own font size and font family controls. There is a new icon-plus-text element, and one more font, Barlow Condensed.
  • New pages: creating a page now works like creating one in a blog tool: you get it instantly and pick a template inside the editor. Every template now has at least seven real sections, written in the voice of its niche instead of generic software copy.

What it means for a coach or academy owner

If you sell a program in more than one form, a variant link means your Instagram post can open the exact option you are talking about. If you run one-to-one sessions with several coaches, buyers can pick who they train with. If you worry about who is in your account, the sign-in notice helps. None of this needs setup beyond the product page you already have.

Explore the Academy if you teach kids or teams, or look at pricing for what each plan includes.

What is next

The next week of commits turns to the product page itself: hero layouts, what shows above the fold, and the shop cards.

Frequently asked questions

What is a variant link?

It is a link that opens a product page with one option already chosen. You set a link path on the variant, then share or copy it from the products table or from a block on your page.

Can buyers book a specific trainer?

The code now supports trainers as bookable resources on a service, with availability per trainer. It is built and we are testing it on our own accounts.

Is this live for all creators?

It is built and on our staging branch. PersonaCart is pre-launch, and our own accounts are the main users right now.
