The Pie Action Board in PersonaCart: One Screen for Today
A written-up look back at 17-23 August 2026. We built a board that shows what Pie needs from you, what is coming up and what it handled, and fixed shipping, currency and bookings.

This is a written-up look back at one week of work on PersonaCart, 17 to 23 August 2026, put together on 12 October 2026 from our code history. Period covered: 17-23 August 2026.
In short
- The lead feature was the Pie Action Board: one place that shows what Pie, our assistant, needs from you, what is coming up, and what it already handled.
- Orders, bookings and subscriptions each got practical fixes: shipping labels, buyer-currency checkout, refund policy per product, and card updates.
- The blog opened to every plan and got a "Write with AI" flow.
Everything here is built and on our staging branch. The platform is pre-launch and our own accounts are the main users.
The lead feature: the Pie Action Board
Pie is the assistant inside PersonaCart. The problem we were working on that week was simple to say: if Pie notices things about your store, where do you see them? A chat window is a poor answer, because you have to ask.
So we built a board. The first version had five lanes. On 23 August we cut it to three columns, after tracing how the lanes really worked and finding that two of them were the same work at a different urgency. The board now reads: Upcoming, Needs your decision, Pie already handled, plus a place for dismissed cards.
What the board does:
- Shows real cards. Cards come from real checks on your store, such as a product missing a price or a course with no lessons. Each card shows when it appeared, and the newest comes first.
- Updates live. The board refreshes when something truly changes, not on a timer.
- Lets you act on a card. Dismiss, restore, pin it to the top of its column, or open the source. The actions you see depend on the column the card is in.
- Holds reminders. In the Upcoming column you can add a reminder or task, choose a time zone, and pick who is told: team members and extra email addresses.
- Lets you drag cards. The columns scroll on their own, so the page does not.
The idea behind it: a coach should be able to open one screen and know what needs a decision today.
The other things that moved
Shipping. A paid order for a physical product can now turn into a real shipment and label from the order page. This works with FedEx, UPS and USPS, and with ShipStation, Shippo, EasyPost and Easyship. The order page says which of three states the order is in and offers "Create shipment".
Buyer's currency. Checkout can charge a buyer in their own currency where we can convert it. The setting defaults on for Stripe stores and off elsewhere, and a creator can pin one product to the store currency.
Bookings and events.
- Buyer reminders are the creator's setting per product: on or off, and how early.
- Event check-in can scan a ticket with the phone camera.
- A buyer can invite their own guest to a booking.
- A creator picks a refund policy for each bookable product (automatic, within a window, or none), and the product page tells the buyer which applies.
- If a buyer's free trial is already used, they are told before they pay.
Subscriptions. A buyer can update the card on file for an active subscription, see their billing history, and get a reminder before a renewal is charged.
Blog. On 18 August we removed the plan restriction on the blog, so every plan can use it. We also built "Write with AI": three steps (outline, review, full draft), with the cost shown as a share of the AI credits you have left, not as a token count.
Courses. The course Students tab shows when each student last visited, with an activity sheet and a CSV export. Lessons can be boxed, wide or full width, and the lesson editor got a drag handle, a block menu and a Download block. Shop menus gained a mega-menu with a featured panel.
What it means for a coach or academy
Most small academies run on one or two people. The board is meant to reduce the "what did I forget?" feeling: Pie lists what it found and what it did, and you decide. For anyone who sells in-person sessions, the booking changes (reminders, refund policy shown up front, guests, camera check-in) remove questions that otherwise arrive by message. If you run team sports, see the Academy, which is separate from the online store.

What is next
The next week's history shows prepaid session packs and class editing for coaches, which is the next post.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Pie Action Board?
It is one screen in PersonaCart that lists what Pie found in your store. Cards sit in columns: upcoming, needs your decision, and already handled by Pie.
Can I add my own reminders to the board?
Yes. In the Upcoming column you can add a reminder or task, set the time zone, and choose which team members or email addresses are told.
Does the blog need a higher plan?
Not after 18 August. We removed that restriction in the code that week.
