Pie Reports Back, You Can Undo: PersonaCart in Early Sept

A written-up look back at 31 August to 6 September 2026. Pie now reports weekly, can be undone, and asks for your consent first. Publishing got safer too.

This is a written-up look back at one week of work on PersonaCart, 31 August to 6 September 2026, put together on 12 October 2026 from our code history. Period covered: 31 August - 6 September 2026.

In short

  • The lead feature was Pie's weekly report: what Pie did, what it did to your numbers, and an Undo button right there.
  • Pie now starts switched off for a new store and asks for your clear consent before it runs.
  • Publishing got safer: a list of what will change, pre-publish warnings, and phone preview links you can revoke.

All of this is built and on our staging branch. The platform is pre-launch and our own accounts are the main users.

The lead feature: Pie reports back, and you can undo

Pie is the assistant inside PersonaCart. Last week it had a board. This week the question was trust: if an assistant does things in your store, how do you know what it did, and how do you take it back?

What we built:

  • "What I did this week." A weekly section, which you can switch on or off in your briefing settings. It lists what Pie did in plain words ("updated SEO on 2 pages, published 1 finished draft"), whether the changes moved your numbers, and what you reversed. A quiet week shows nothing rather than a "nothing happened" line.
  • Undo on the board. A card that Pie executed shows an Undo button while the undo window is open. After you use it, the card shows a "Reverted" chip. The button only appears when the server would accept the undo.
  • Today's three. At the top of the board and on Home, at most three cards that matter today, each with one button and one plain reason why.
  • A money line on Home. Settled revenue this week against last week. On a store with no activity it shows nothing, not "$0".
  • Quiet alerts. Pie speaks up on three things only: revenue falling well below the store's own recent pattern, a spike in refunds, and stock running out.
  • Pie slows down when ignored. If you do not respond, Pie asks less often, tells you once, and speeds up again as soon as you touch it.

Consent comes first

New stores now start with Pie switched off. When you turn it on, a short dialog explains in plain words what you are starting: Pie watches your store, tells you by app and email, suggests work on the board, never spends money, never emails your customers and never publishes without your approval, and you can stop it at any time. The button stays disabled until you tick a box saying you understand. Turning Pie off needs no dialog.

The other things that moved

Publishing. The Publish button lists what will change, section by section ("Hero, edited; Pricing, new"). Pre-publish checks warn you before go-live, not after. After publishing, the message gives you a "View live" link. The phone preview link ("Preview on phone") can now be revoked, shows a "Draft preview" strip on the phone, and reloads when you save. An old link answers "scan the new QR" instead of silently working for 30 more minutes.

The buyer assistant. The assistant shoppers talk to now uses the name you gave it on every message. Its "readiness" score became five plain checks (named, capabilities chosen, three FAQ answers, support email set, tested once), each with a button to fix it. You can set tone and industry. FAQ articles can be generated for every product, and you can hide a single product from the assistant.

Courses. A creator can give one student extra quiz attempts. Quiz timers now run on the server and an unfinished attempt can be resumed. Certificates can be renewed by the buyer through a checkout. You can grant free course access in bulk.

Page editor. One three-way "Visible on" choice replaces separate hide switches. A Spacing control offers Compact, Standard or Spacious. The font picker lists all 32 fonts we host. Product images get a focal point, so a crop keeps the face in view. Analytics shows real Core Web Vitals.

What it means for a coach or academy

You are busy. An assistant that works in the background is only useful if it is easy to stop, easy to check and easy to reverse. That was the point of the week. The weekly report is the check. Undo is the reverse. Consent and the off-by-default start are the stop.

The extra quiz attempts and certificate renewal are for course creators; the AI course generator page explains that side. For team programs, see the Academy.

What is next

The next week's history is mostly the page editor: a settings sheet for each element on an imported page. That is the next post.

Frequently asked questions

Does Pie act without asking me?

New stores start with Pie off. When you turn it on, you confirm in a dialog that says Pie will not spend money, email customers or publish without your approval.

Can I reverse something Pie did?

Yes, while the undo window is open. The card shows an Undo button, and a "Reverted" chip afterwards.

Can I preview my page on my phone before I publish?

Yes. The preview link opens the draft on your phone, and you can revoke the link.
